Welcome to Stroom-af Self Catering.

Wakkerstroom, known as the "Jewel of Mpumalanga" is a rustic small town with beautiful landscapes and a multitude of activities for old and young. It is internationaly known as a birder's paradise and is home to a few rare bird species. A few artist have also settled here which insures that the apparently sleepy town will satisfy a wide variaty of tastes. For those that would like a break from their own kitchens there are a good selection of restaurants and bread is baked daily at the Suikerbekkie Bakery as well as home made cheese at The Wild Turkey.

Cycling, hiking, 4x4 routes, fly fishing and horse riding are some of the activities avaialble to visitors.

Stroom-af is an old "nagmaal" (Holy Communion) house dating from the 19th century which form the core of current larger structure. All modern amenities needed for a self catering break away are available in an atmosphere created by a 100 year old building using locally sourced stone/mud walls and Oregon pine floors.

Stroom-af can accommodate 6 people and with prior arrangement up to to 8.
